Stranger in a strange land

I decided to finally start fiddling with the KLX, so this is how it went :o)

First, I took everything apart :o)
Then I got the frame and parts powdercoated. The frame's black, the swingarm's silver with an extra layer of clearcoat (apparently silver suffers in sunlight, so the clearcoat gives some UV protection). Doesn't it look good?
Then I cleaned all the crap off the engine, and put it back in the frame. Most of the mounting bolts are still loose, but it's in there.
I've added the radiators and airbox...
and the beginnings of the electrics, and put it on the trundly trolley stand thingy, so I can move it, and jack it up to put the wheels back on.
I replaced the steering head bearings and installed the forks.
I've added the handlebars and most of the electrics. It's getting trickier to work on now, as the bike's very front heavy - I've caught it sliding off the stand 3 times now. It's getting a lot heavier, too :o)
After a few mis-steps, I reinstalled the swingarm bearings and started to get the rear suspension back together. Finally, a bit of balance.
A bit more of the rear suspension done :o)
I installed some more of the electrics and rear suspension (without the longer suspension linkages, as they need bigger holes drilled in them. I can now turn the engine over (waiting for an exhaust system to start it though), and found that the front indicators were wired up the wrong way around (both have gray wires), so I got to take it all apart and redo it :o).
All of the electrics, the rear brake system and the start of the bodywork. It's taking a long time to clean up the bodywork, as 10 years in the sun means it's paid a price in oxidation :o(
With the wheels back on, I can take it off the trundly stand (it's been looking a bit precarious for a while) and get it back on it's wheels. I also spent a couple of hours destickering the bodywork.
I added the exhaust and bodywork, filled up the fluids (before I forgot and it's done :o)

Andy bet me that I'd never get the bike finished, and I said it would be done before Xmas. Here it is, back in one piece, a whole week early, so, in your face, Cannon :o)
