I put the usual chunk of controls on the left hand handlebar:
The throttle unit is a Motion Pro push/pull item... using just the pull
cable, going into the push hole in the unit, allowing the twistgrip to twist the
right way.
The brake is actually a hydraulic clutch from a Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP. As it
has a 5/8" piston, rather than a 3/8" piston, it helps the weedy stock brake...
you don't so much slam on the anchors as put in a requisition for a braking
manoeuvre :o)
I'm currently using a TZR125 clutch lever, the same as on the
Hawk
as it dips down, but I might try and find something smaller, like an MX unit.
On the right handlebar, I'm using the stock mirror mount from the left
handlebar - the standard one was on the brake. The stock mirrors don't
work, due to the angle of the clutch, so I currently don't have any mirrors.
I'm working on this, honest :o)
The brake line might look a bit long, following the line of the Kawasaki hose
and looping under the fork leg like that, but there's a method to my madness.
The brake caliper's on the left hand side, so now I can move the brake over to
the right by just running the hose the same as a normal bike, up the back of
the fork leg. This saves me having to replace the hose when converting the
bike back to lend it to visiting friends.
Isn't it nice of Kawasaki to put on a flourescent pink label to remind you that
this bike has uppy-downy forks? :o)
