I finally got the
wheels
all built up, and fitted an EBC 320mm disc to the front. The old disc I had from this wheel was
shagged, and needed replacing, and the EBC disc looked cool. I bolted everything
together,
and in the garage everything seemed fine. I went for a little ride, and heard a clicking sound
from the front end. I found that when I braked, it went away, so I figured it was something to
do with the disc.
It was :o(
Looking at the new disc, I could see that the carrier and one of the buttons had
been hitting something...
Yup, it had been hitting this casting on the caliper. I need to figure out what to do about it, as I could trim the casting, modify the relocating backet, or try and fix
the wheel, as the disc obviously isn't sitting centrally. We'll see :o)
I eventually figured out that the problem was with the disc carrier mounting to the wheel
- a short while later, I was riding the thing again without any noises. Egads, it's different
with the new wheels...
